I was born in Chicago, into a large, middle class family of Polish descent. My earliest thoughts of my future were first and foremost to be a Mom, probably because in my family, someone was always having a baby. The new babies brought joy and excitement, and the women made it look easy.

Other young girls were already aspiring to be teachers, nurses and secretaries; the field of opportunity wasn’t huge yet. While none of those other careers interested me I did say that I thought I would like to manage a business one day. That did raise some eyebrows.

Regardless, all of my dreams came true. We have five wonderful, grown children and have been blessed with six extraordinary grandchildren. My Hospitality career spans thirty years with various Management positions in the Hotel and Restaurant Industries.

Today, I’m the Founder/President of New Normals Inc. My husband’s miraculous survival of a severe brain hemorrhage and my role as his caregiver has turned our painful journey into a passion to serve other families, experiencing stroke/brain injury. Our purpose is to provide caregivers, and survivor’s informational support and strategies for “Reclaiming a Life of Significance.”

My husband, Chris and I reside in Hanover, Pennsylvania near all of our children and grandchildren.

It’s not unusual for me to receive a phone call to settle a sports trivia dispute; past to present rankings of a player or team, I’m your man. This is my passion today and in my yesterdays: Sports.

Since childhood, I remember hiding a transistor radio under my pillow to listen to the ball game at night, or a flashlight to read my latest sports story from the local library. If you didn’t find me playing a sport, surely I’d be watching, listening, or reading about it.

I was a lucky kid to grow up in Chicago, with all their sports teams, and I had easy access by bus to feed my never-ending sports hunger. In our neighborhood, I was surrounded by like-minded kids, which kept me busy until nightfall playing ball on the corner lot.

A lifelong student of sports and its history, I found ways to incorporate my passion into my career. I created numerous award winning sports restaurant/lounge concepts, when I served as the Vice President of a Hospitality company.

Today, a survivor of a severe brain injury, I’m not able to physically participate except as a fan. But, I have found a way to capture the sports spirit within and channel that energy into a series of sports books committed to a positive message throughout.

However, my best memories are as a father of five grown children; the time I spent coaching our kids’ teams or simply shooting hoops with them in our driveway. Today my wife, Pam and I enjoy our six wonderful grandchildren and reside in Pennsylvania.
